next event

I'm Adrian, aka DEEP UNIT. House in all its forms, deep, classic, latin and afro, for villas, yachts, corporate events and private parties in Nice and across the Riviera. Around fifteen years behind the decks, from the small club to the large seafront terrace. In Nice I work to a simple thread: a short briefing, clean technical setup, and a set that follows the room rather than the other way round. Quote within 24 hours.

DEEP UNIT, DJ based in Nice, behind the decks in black and white

About me

I am Adrian, also known as DEEP UNIT, a house DJ and producer with 15 years behind the decks across Europe. In Nice and on the Riviera: galas in the grand hotels along the Promenade des Anglais, villas up in Cimiez or on Mont Boron, beach clubs, terraces in the old town, rooftops between Place Masséna and the port.

My repertoire is clear: house, deep house, latin and afro house, disco and techno. No all-purpose chart medley, no Schlager. I play my own music, not someone else's.

Every venue sets its own pace: a yacht, a villa by the sea, an estate, a terrace, a beach club or a boutique hotel. I calibrate the set, the volume and the transitions to the room, the crowd and the hour. Announcements kept sober, in French, English and German.

DJ and house producer. My releases are on Spotify, Apple Music and Beatport.

A set for every occasion

A DJ in Nice for every kind of event, building the atmosphere that fits your crowd with a selection put together for the occasion. DJ hire in Nice covers an event DJ set of 2 to 8 hours: private parties, corporate events, a yacht or boat party and VIP weddings.

Beach and pool parties, Nice seafront and the Riviera

Daytime sets on the pebble beaches of Nice, the pools of the grand hotels and the cabanas along the Riviera. A tempo that carries the heat without drowning out the conversation. Daytime sets of 2 to 8 hours, setup and soundcheck before doors open.

Corporate events in Nice

For galas, conventions and launches in Nice: a soundtrack that shapes the key moments of the evening, from the welcome drinks to the speeches, and steps back when the programme calls for it. Announcements in French, English and German, a set of 2 to 8 hours.

Clubs and bars in the old town

Opening, peak-time or closing slots in the clubs of Nice and the lounges along the coast. Reading the room comes first, and the transitions follow without an abrupt jump. Slots of 2 to 8 hours, opening, peak-time or closing.

Villa parties in the hills above Nice

Private receptions between Cimiez, Mont Boron and the hinterland: rooftops in Nice, hillside villas overlooking the bay, pool parties in the French style. The sound adapts to stone walls, open sky and the guests in the room. From 30 guests to several hundred, setup in the afternoon and soundcheck before they arrive.

Yachts and boats at the Port of Nice

Sets on a yacht at the quay or under way, leaving from the Port of Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer or Beaulieu. Compact gear, controlled levels and nothing in the way of your guests. Levels calibrated for an open deck, 2 to 8 hours.

Festivals

Festival sets on the Riviera and beyond, matched to the time slot and the crowd already there. No prepared setlist; each slot is built on what the moment asks for. Slots of 2 to 8 hours depending on the programme.

Restaurants & Lounges on the Riviera

Deep, jazz and soul atmospheres for the fine dining rooms of Nice and the grand hotels. Volume under control, and a selection that works with the food rather than over it. Held below conversation level, 2 to 8 hours.

Birthdays and private parties along the Promenade

Milestone birthdays, intimate parties or family celebrations: the tracks that matter to you are worked into a set built to last the evening without breaking its flow. From 30 guests to several hundred, 2 to 8 hours.

Custom mix

A studio mix prepared in advance around your tracks and your timing: for a save-the-date, a personal gift or one specific moment of the evening. Built from your list, with a reply to the request within 24 hours.

VIP weddings

For couples who want a modern wedding in Nice, on the Promenade, at Cap-Ferrat or in the boutique hotels of the Riviera. House, deep, latin, afro and disco. No traditional hosting format and no all-purpose repertoire. Open format of 2 to 8 hours, prepared separately for the cocktail hour, dinner and the party.

DJ in Nice, frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions on booking, gear and how it runs. Direct and transparent.

What does a DJ in Nice cost for my event?

Rather than a fixed rate, every quote is built on three things: how many hours of set (2 to 8 hours), what equipment is already on site, and what the venue allows. A club set does not follow the same logic as a wedding that starts with the cocktail around six in the evening and runs well past midnight. If the room already has sound, I arrive with my decks and headphones, nothing else. If it does not, sound and lighting are arranged with partner suppliers and quoted separately: speakers, sub, microphones for the speeches and lighting matched to the dancefloor. Travel adds almost nothing in and around Nice; for Saint-Tropez, the hinterland or the Italian side of the Riviera we sometimes plan a night on site so I arrive rested. Send me the date, roughly where, and how many guests, and within 24 hours you get a quote broken down line by line, with no obligation.

How does a wedding DJ booking in Nice work?

A wedding in Nice usually happens in a private villa, a wine estate in the hinterland or a hotel facing the sea, and each kind of venue sets its own tempo. A few months ahead we build the outline together: the sound you want, the guests, the moments that matter. On the day I am there three to four hours before the doors open, to set up, run the soundcheck and walk the spaces. Ceremony, civil or otherwise: music for the entrance, the interludes and the exit. Cocktail: light grooves that do not cover the conversation. Dinner: a calmer selection that carries the speeches. Opening of the dancefloor: a gradual build to a full floor. In total 2 to 8 hours of mixing depending on the schedule, with no break between the phases.

What is included in the DJ service in Nice?

Included as standard: building the playlist with you, travel from Nice, setup and soundcheck before the guests arrive, the full set for the booked duration, the transitions between cocktail, dinner and dancefloor, and the takedown at the end of the night. Depending on the package, organised with partner suppliers and quoted separately: full sound, wireless microphones for the speeches, dancefloor lighting or something more discreet. For weddings: a recorded mix you can listen to before the day, on request. Not included: video projection, MC-style hosting or themed entertainment, stage decor. For those I can point you to trusted suppliers in Nice.

What music styles do you mix?

The core repertoire is house in all its shades: deep house for the quieter stretches, classic house with hooks people know, latin and afro depending on the crowd, restrained techno when the peak calls for it. No set is fixed in advance. At a wedding the cocktail opens on nu-disco and deep grooves, dinner stays with instrumental jazz or soul classics, the floor opens with tracks that get everyone up, then climbs if the room follows. In a club the curve is read off the dancefloor: the hour, the energy, who is actually standing in front of me, nothing planned ahead.

How do you choose a DJ in Nice?

Beyond the years of experience, three things make the difference. How they listen: does the DJ ask about your world, your wishlist, your no-go list, or do they sell you a preset set? How clear the quote is: duration, exactly what equipment, travel, what happens if something goes wrong, every line spelled out. A vague quote nearly always hides extras. And an audible track record: a DJ who releases their own tracks on Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport or SoundCloud, or who plays in established clubs, puts their technical level out in public. A few minutes of listening is enough to form a view before you book.

Which regions and cities are you available in?

Base is Nice. The standard radius covers Nice and the whole coastal strip of the Alpes-Maritimes: Cagnes-sur-Mer, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Eze, all reachable without an overnight stay. Wider, I play regularly in Antibes, Juan-les-Pins, Cannes, Mougins, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Vence, Monaco and Saint-Tropez, and on the Italian side in Sanremo, Bordighera and Ventimiglia, sometimes with a night on site depending on the finish time. For yachts leaving the port of Nice or Villefranche towards the Riviera or the Balearics, the logistics follow the itinerary. For international bookings (Ibiza, Mallorca, European capitals), flights and accommodation are included in the quote. The further the venue, the more useful it is to plan ahead. Well-known addresses in Nice include Le Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais and the Beau Rivage with its private beach; they are named as orientation for the city, not as a list of past bookings.

Do you bring your own DJ gear and sound system to Nice?

Yes: mixer, headphones, cabling and a backup soundcard as standard. When the venue has no sound system, sound and lighting are arranged with partner suppliers and quoted separately: front-of-house speakers, subwoofer, wireless microphones for the speeches and lighting matched to the size of the dancefloor. For the hillside villas and the estates in the hinterland, that full package saves you juggling several suppliers. Setup in the afternoon, soundcheck before the first guests arrive, then the set runs unbroken from the cocktail to closing. One point of contact on site, from the morning through to the next if needed.

How far in advance should a DJ in Nice be booked?

A wedding or a major event in Nice is best booked 4 to 9 months ahead, especially between May and September. Saturdays in May, June and September, the strong part of the Riviera season, often go 6 months in advance. For a weekday evening, a club set outside high season or a corporate event in autumn or winter, 2 to 3 months notice is usually enough. For late or last-minute requests, write anyway: dates free up regularly. The earlier you get in touch, the calmer the preparation, with time to refine the playlist, settle the announcements and, if useful, visit the venue together.

Do you take music requests from guests?

Yes, and it is built in from the start, not an add-on. In preparation we agree a wishlist (the tracks that absolutely have to be played), a no-go list (what to avoid entirely) and, if it fits, a signature playlist for the opening. During the night guests can come to the booth directly. When a request fits the moment I work it in; when it would break the flow I find an equivalent that lands better, or I place it at a better point in the night. The aim: every guest hears something that speaks to them, without the set losing its thread.

Do you also mix for smaller private parties?

Yes, from a private villa dinner for 30 guests to a large reception in a grand hotel for several hundred. The preparation works the same way whatever the format: the mood, the playlist, the key moments agreed beforehand. What really changes is the equipment. Thirty people around a pool need a light setup, often without any lighting at all. A wedding at an estate or a gala needs solid sound and dancefloor lighting to fill the room. The care taken over the music stays the same either way: an intimate birthday deserves the same attention as an evening for two hundred.

What languages can you announce in?

French, English and German depending on your guests. At a bilingual wedding, common on the Riviera between French, English and German speaking families, I switch languages for the few announcements that are needed. At an international corporate event English is usually the right choice for official announcements, while the music carries the mood without any words at all. German comes up mainly with the German speaking clientele who spend the season on the Riviera. Italian and Spanish are not at the level I would announce in, but Italian and latin music is well represented in the repertoire, and on those stretches the tracks speak for themselves.

Do you play weddings with a set first dance and traditional hosting?

No. I am a house and electronic DJ, not a wedding host. I take weddings where the reception runs on house, deep, latin, afro or disco. No classic hosting format with a compulsory first slow dance, games between guests, karaoke or an all-purpose chart medley. For a wedding in a villa on Cap-Ferrat, in a boutique hotel on the Promenade des Anglais or in Saint-Paul-de-Vence the approach works well: the playlist is settled beforehand, the cocktail runs on quiet deep house, dinner on grooves and soul, the floor shifts gradually to classic house and the tracks that get everyone up. No Schlager, no guided entertainment. If you are looking for a traditional wedding host for a general-purpose format, I will point you to a colleague who offers it.

Can I get an invoice for the booking?

Yes, on request. For private clients and companies alike I issue a proper invoice stating the service, the date of the event, the venue, the net amount and any applicable tax. For a corporate event in Nice, on the Riviera or in the Alpes-Maritimes the invoice is made out to the company and sent straight to accounts, with the business registration or VAT number where needed. Payment is by bank transfer before or after the event, whichever suits your process. For a wedding in a villa on Cap-Ferrat, an event in a boutique hotel on the Promenade or a private party in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the invoice can serve as proof for your own accounts or for reimbursement. Say so when we agree the quote.

Ready for your next event?

I would be glad to talk through your project. Just write me what you have in mind, whether it is a first idea or a plan that is already well advanced. I reply within 24 hours and we work out together how to make your event stand out.

Sound and lighting are arranged with partner suppliers and quoted separately.
